Fanfiction: Loneliness

Title: Loneliness
    Sequel to: Friend vs Lover
Pairing: ChadxRenji
Rating: PG-13 for kissing

Renji watched as Chad changed from his school uniform into a pair of sweatpants. Chad knew he was watching, but Renji didn't really care since he wasn't trying to be subtle about it. He sighed and stretched out on the bed, exhausted from an eventful patrol, but it felt weird having Chad's apartment so quiet that he found it hard to completely relax. "Ne, Chad, don't you get lonely staying here all by yourself all the time?" he asked after the silence had reigned too long for his taste.

Chad walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm used to it," he said simply.

Renji frowned as he sat up, running his hands over Chad's shoulders and kissing the side of his neck. "I didn't ask if you're used to it. I asked if you get lonely." He wrapped his arms around his lover's waist. "I wouldn't be able to stand it. Even living in Roukongai I always had people around to stave off the loneliness," he said softly.

Chad shifted and pushed Renji back onto the bed. "It's not lonely now," he stated just as their lips brushed against one another's.

Renji smirked and pulled Chad deeper into the kiss as he finally relaxed in the quiet apartment.
