Kira was always happiest when Ichimaru-taicho was close at hand. He knew that Ichimaru-taicho could take care of himself and really didn't need the baggage of his fukutaicho's emotions to slow him down. At any rate, Kira was always anxious when his taicho left for any reason, but especially if he was on a mission. Kira would do all of the paperwork he could find in 3rd Squad so that he would have an excuse to be there when Ichimaru-taicho got back. That way he would know that his taicho, yes his taicho as he was very possessive, was okay and wouldn't need 4th Squad's attention. Ichimaru-taicho would smile, assure him he was okay and then send him to bed. Kira would try and make an excuse to stay up a little longer with his taicho, but when it was really late at night he often couldn't come up with a good reason. So off he went to the rooms he had in 3rd Squad and wished he could retreat into his taicho's rooms instead and wait for Ichimaru-taicho because after that one night he was allowed to he found it hard to sleep on his own.
